Attendance and Punctuality

At Favona Primary School we encourage children to attend school every day. Research tells us that regular attendance at school is one of the biggest factors in children being successful learners and making progress at school.

If a student is absent from the school, a parent is required to notify the school. This can be done via our website, or by phone. If your child is absent for 3 consecutive days a medical certificate may be required and sighted by the office staff.

If a student is going to be late, the school must also be notified. Once the student arrives at school they must go to the Sign In Station at the office to sign in. They will then be given a Late Card to give to the teacher.

Children should only stay away if they are sick or there are very special family circumstances.

A text message will be sent to the parent listed as main contact if your child is marked absent from school. Please reply to the text message or contact the office to confirm your child is safe and you know where they are. It is important that you advise the office if your mobile number changes.

If your child arrives home from school during the school day Please ring the school office on 09 275 8449.
